As Clarence (Christian Slater) and Alabama (Patricia Arquette) head to Los Angeles from Detroit, they stop to make a phone call in the middle of the desert. The location used here for the movie "

True Romance

" (top) is in the Mojave desert just east of the city of Palmdale.
In the desert, buildings come and buildings go. It's hard to tell if this building was actually on site 17 years ago or if it was just a facade added for the filming. From the looks of the lot, something stood there at one time. The now unused power pole is also evidence of that.
